Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!

Everyone kept saying we were going to set snow, and guess what?! It really happened! For, me.. it was a lot like Christmas morning when you are little and can't really sleep. I got up around 4am, and peeked out the window... no snow. Then Zach got home from his night shift around 7am, and I could hear him talking to our roomate, Kale saying, "It's snowing!"

I didn't quite jump right up cause it was pretty cold, but after a while I talked myself into getting up and taking a look outside. It is sooooooo pretty.

So, I took some pictures!

Update

So I am all moved in, and have been working at my job for about 3 months now. It is going pretty well. I work with all girls, and have made a lot of friends through work. We are totally Sex in the City Portland style. I work at a little office in downtown in the Pearl district. It is awesome because there are tons of places to grab some food or cocktails with the girls after work. I work from 6am-2:30 pm, and have recently realized that I am now usually awake for 18 hours every day. I guess you can say that I am living life to the fullest!
If you wanna check out the company I am working for, go to www.rubyreceptionists.com
I like this city a whole lot. But, I am hating my appartment. It is sooo tiny and I have to share it with 2 roomates plus Zach. There is just not enough space! Specially because Kale brews beer, which equals many dirty dishes, and he plays gutar all the time. And Stefanie doesn't work at the time, and comes home late and noisy. I think now that I have lived alone, I can't do the roomie thing anymore. It is too messy ( and not my mess!)
I miss home a lot. I dream about my little sis, and our big family get togethers. I am never sure what house I put us in, but it is big!

I am going on break now!

First Post (finally)

Picture stories are my favorite kind, so I'm going to tell the story of my trip to Oregon this way. Zach and I had to wait a very long time in our empty appartment waiting for our new room mates and upstairs neighbors to come pick us up. All we kept with us was some blankets, pillows, and books.

I was pretty upset that he decided to sell the IPod, but I decided to look at it like we were roughing it. Just like in the 60's, we were waiting to get on the bus.

It was crazy because I had just taken a really nasty spill on my scooter when we were loading our boxes on the moving truck. After all the boxes were loaded I hopped on my scooter and was going to drive it up the ramp and onto the truck, like an all American badass. I made it about three quarters of the way up the ramp before I ate it off the right side landing directly on my frontal lobe and pinning my ankle under my scooter, which actually weighs 240lbs! My ankle swelled up 3 times it's naural size and hurt like hell! I wasn't exactly the most mobile or cognizant to say the least. I was also a little weepy from the pain and the shock, but Zach was taking care of me and I knew that I was going to be alright.

This is actually the only picture I got on the 2 day road trip up the PCH. I'm going to go ahead and contribute that to the concussion I most likely suffered. This is a picture of cows. We played a game called cow and all of these cows were mine. It is pretty impressive.

For me, the drive didn't last long enough. It reminded me of when I was little and spend days in the car. It felt good to not have to be anywhere in any sort of time frame. But, I was very happy to get into Portland and see my appartment and new neighborhood.

Our appartment is pretty tiny, but we love having our own balcony. The weather is consistantly awesome. Most of all we are enjoying ourselfs. Our room mates help out with that a lot. Kale makes beer on his balcony and we all enjoy it. But it's not all living the ultra lux bohomien lifestyle. I got a job and am discovering the joys of domestication. I will cook when Kale doesn't treat us to his very well planned dinners that compliment the taste of his home brews. Sometimes we visit the Laurelhurst theatre where they serve pitchers of beer and pizza with your movie.
My ankle is almost the size and shape it used to be, and I consiter myself very lucky.

Here's to Portland!
